Question:
I have a 2025 Yukon Denali and I am looking for a cross bar and ski rack setup that will allow me to still fit into my garage. From what I have researched, the yukons height is 76.50inch to the roof and the clearance of my garage is 83.50. Can you recommend a setup that would achieve this scenario?

Hey Brian, thanks for reaching out. I can definitely recommend some parts, but we will be cutting it very close on the clearance between your roof and the garage. The roof rack itself will clear fine, but the ski carrier is the part that will be cutting it close. Sounds like you have about 7" to work with total.
For starters, the lowest profile roof rack for your 2025 GMC Yukon Denali is the following:
- Thule WingBar Edge Roof Rack for Flush Rails - Aluminum - Black - Qty 2 # TH47WG
This adds approximately 3-1/2" to the roof height, so that leaves us another 3-1/2" to work with.
For the ski carrier, the only option I am seeing that would be less than 3-1/2" tall is the Kuat Switch 6 Ski and Snowboard Carrier # KU44FR. This carrier has a lever that allows it to fold flat when unloaded. In the folded down position, it adds 3" of height to the roof. When folded up it adds 5-3/4", so it would only clear the garage in the folded down position, so you would have to remove your skis and fold the carrier down before entering the garage.
Every other ski carrier we offer would sit too tall on top of the crossbars.
The 2025 Yukon does have OEM roof rails so I suggest you double and even triple check your measurements from the top of the roof rails themselves. That is what the roof rack will sit on top of. Please check and make sure the 6-1/2" of added height will clear your garage. I'd hate for you to find out it doesn't the hard way. As long as you can confirm that, this will definitely be the best/only setup that would allow you to pull into the garage without removing everything.
How many skis/boards did you need to carry?

Hey Brian and Jesse, I just bought this same setup for both my 2025 GMC Yukon XL AT4 and my wife's 2023 GMC Yukon Denali for Christmas. Easy setup, love the look and the features. Super easy getting skis in and out. Lots of comments and interest at the resorts. Fast forward, we went to a hockey game in January and the parking garage was posted 76" clearance. My wife's denali with everything installed did not clear the sign. (Bang) I was told I had to reverse out of the garage by the parking attendants who were none to nice about it. Then I remembered, air ride suspension. I dropped it all the way down using the dial left of the steering column, pulled right back up and it cleared!!! (I think it was the easy entry setting) My 2025 AT4 does not have the air ride suspension and it is definitely above 76". It is possible that the parking garage measurement was "adjusted" like the maximum cargo weight of an elevator to ensure some wiggle room, but with the air ride in my wife's 2023 Denali it is a quick drop and all the clearance needed at a posted 76". Now, Fast forward again. Went to another hockey game in another town, garage situation, and had the same scenario play out but this time I was in the AT4. I removed a total of 4 nuts (2 per thule ski rack) and easily popped them off and had the additional 4-5" of clearance I needed. I always keep a few hex wrenches in my vehicle. As a daily driver you don't want the hassle of popping them off but if you have the air ride equipped in the Denali just drop it down and you are good to go! Love this Thule setup and again a breeze at holding 6 pairs of skis. Our last trip had 4 pairs of skis and my son's snowboard and they rode great through a lake effect snowstorm for 300 miles. Being able to pull up to a 5min loading zone at the resort and throw everything up in less time than it takes for everyone to jump in and belt up really kept the parking enforcement goons at bay. I even had one comment "that is the way it is supposed to be done!" Gone in 3min. I hope this helps! Ben
