Question:
I was having trouble with my series 32 steps and decided to replace motor and gear box since the rig is 20 yrs old. I purchased at a RV store since I was on the road and now nothing works. I’m stationary now and trying to get them working. As I’m researching now I’m thinking I bought a newer model motor that might not work with my controller. Can I just get the same motor without going through all this replacing. Motor P/N they gave me is 379147. I thought it would just be a plug in and everything would work. Need HELP!! 2001 Fleetwood Discovery 38D series Kwikee 32 steps Thank you

Because of the age of the steps I can see why they might have made this mistake; the # LC379147 they got you is usually the correct motor replacement for older Kwikee steps, but I do believe you've got pre-IMGL steps. The # LC379147 are designed for the IMGL versions of the Kwikee steps so instead you'll want the Lippert Components Kwikee Step Motor Replacement Kit # LC379608. This is a direct replacement for the motor that originally came with your steps and will work perfectly with the existing controls.
If you also need to replace the gearbox you'd then want the part # LC379160.
