What Does IMGL and Pre-IMGL Mean for Lippert Kwikee Steps

What does IMGL stand for?

IMGL when referencing the Kwikee steps stands for Integrated Motor Gear Box Linkage. In October of 2004, Kwikee Steps made by Lippert changed their system from the separate parts to the integrated system. Prior to this there was a cast linkage separate from the gear box and these steps are from 1999-Oct 2004 referred to as Pre-IMGL.

They kept replacement parts but started making the Lippert Components Kwikee Step Motor Conversion/Upgrade Kit # LC379145 to eventually transfer over completely.

Why won't an 909510000 controller work to replace a 909506000 pre imgl step controller

@Mike The change was big enough that the control module had to be totally redesigned.
