Trailer Hub For BT8 Spindle With 4 on 4 Bolt Pattern For Boat Trailer

Question:

Hi folks, I am a novice here and need to replace the two hubs on my small sailboat trailer. The spindle it rides on is 1 inch in diameter and I believe is the BT8 variant from everything I read. The prior hub is 4 lugs with a 4.80 - 8 tire on it. I am looking to replace both the hub and tires/wheels. Could you provide some guidance for this low end trailer that only carries a 300 lb sailboat? Thanks so much!

Thank you for that information, and we do have a hub that fits a BT8 spindle and has a 4 on 4 bolt pattern. This hub is for a 2,000 lb axle, and is galvanized to protect it from corrosion, which is what you'll need for a boat trailer. The correct hub that fits a BT8 spindle with a 4 on 4 bolt pattern is the following:

- Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb Axles - 4 on 4 - Galvanized # AKIHUB-440-2-G-1K

If you don't have a bearing packer I recommend the Bearing Packer # PTW1218.
