Finding The Brake Controller Input Wire On a 2018-2019 Chevrolet Equinox

Question:

The wiring on your 2019 equinox shows him tapping into a pink/white wire under console for brake switch and another on a 2018 equinox under the sill garnish in passenger area and that wire is a blue/white? Clarification would be great to get this controller on the road. Picture shows under console where the pink/white wire should be? I dont know where the sill garnish is, if thats where the blue/white brake control is located. Thanks again for the help.

I found the installation video that we did on our 2019 Chevrolet Equinox but I have not been able to locate the video you mentioned with the 2018 Equinox. Our video we did was on a Equinox that came with the factory 7-way wiring and that may be why you do not see the same wiring.

I recommend installing a Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751489 to give you your brake signal on your brake controller. This will ensure that you get enough power to the brake controller and do not risk damaging the wiring in your factory harness.

The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 is the brake controller that I recommend using. This proportional brake controller will self adjust for light or heavy braking thanks to an internal inertia sensor. It is customizable and easily removable when not needed thanks to a quick release mount.
