Replacement Base for B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for OEM Prep System for Chevy/GMC

Question:
I have a BandW companion fifth wheel hitch for my 2017 chevy 3500 and the base does not fit my 2021 chevy 3500, would my fifth wheel plate fit into the 2021 base, where as I would only need to get the base for the 2021?
