For connecting your truck shell 3rd brake light on your 2013 GMC Sierra 1500 I recommend adding the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118384. This will allow you to be able to unplug the wiring that will go to your truck shell if you need to remove it from the truck. It will also not require you to splice into any of your vehicle wiring.

To this you will need the Wesbar 4-Pole Flat Connector # W787268 to allow you wiring up to your 3rd brake light. You will then be able to wire in the 3rd Brake Light Logic Module # PP20-702 to the 4-flat connector at the 3rd brake light.

The green wire on the brake light module will connect to the positive wire of the 3rd brake light. The negative wire of your 3rd brake light will connect to the white wire of the 4-flat connector. The 2 yellow wires of the brake light module will connect to the green and yellow wires separately. The brown wire will not be used unless the 3rd brake light has a separate running light circuit.

I recommend the Heat Shrink Butt Connectors # DW05744-5 for all your wiring splices.
