Question:
Estimated time to install the hitch? Are there any special converters needed to add the wiring connector for the trailer plug?

Expert Reply:
Curt classifies the difficulty level of the installation as 'moderate'. They tell me that a professional installer should be able to complete the installation in roughly 40 minutes to an hour. For a do-it-yourselfer, the install time will depend on you mechanical ability.
To determine if the install is something you would feel comfortable attempting, take a look at the install instructions that I have linked for you.
None of our suppliers offer a trailer wiring harness that is compatible with the 2012 ML350, I would recommend checking with your Mercedes-Benz dealer for a wiring harness.
To complete your towing system, you might also need the following:
Ball mount, part # AMSC2
1-7/8 inch trailer ball, part # 19260
2 inch trailer ball, part # 19247
2-5/16 inch trailer ball, part # 63847
