Air Bags Compatible With 5th Wheel Hitch on 2018 Ford F-150

2018 F150 Crew 4x4. Purchased Curt 16442 5th Wheel kit and installed. Needed airbags for a bit more stability. Purchased Firestone 2582 after reading reviews. However, is there a custom made frame bracket for the 2582 because this 2582 bolts straight to chassis. With the 16442 already in place, it pushes the plane of the 2582 frame bracket without custom modifying this bracket too slip behind the 16442 and possibly welding both brackets together?? Thanks for any help.

While there is an air bag kit that works with a 5th wheel hitch for your 2018 Ford F-150, the Firestone # F2582 does not, and unfortunately there is no type of special bracket made for this, and I definitely don't recommend any type of modification. It would not only void the warranty but could compromise the air bag set up. So while I know it isn't the exact answer you want, the best and safest option truly is a different set of air bags for your '18 F-150, from Air Lift:
- Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs # AL57385
As you can see from the accompanying photo, these install underneath the frame of your truck so they are compatible with an in-bed hitch. Air Lift is a quality product that our customers really like, and is going to be exactly what you need for your truck since you have a 5th wheel hitch.
Again, I realize this wasn't the option you were wanting, but in this case, I do highly recommend switching to the Air Lift set up for your F-150. I have added a link below to the instruction manual as well if you'd like to take a look.
