Question:

I need help please, Im looking for 205/75 R14s with 14 ply and a rating of E-G for my 8000 pound travel trailer. Im going on a cross country road trip in 9 days.

I may have a solution for you, but I'm not aware of a 14" trailer tire existing with these specs (Load Range E and 14 ply). The highest rated 205/75r14 tire we have is the Westlake ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D # 274-000012 which is rated for 2,040-lbs per tire and is an 8 ply tire. These are radial tires, so they're well suited for highway travel and would do just fine on your cross-country trip. Most tires this size top out at Load Range D and have no more than 8 ply.

In order to get up to a Load Range E tire you would need a 15" wheel; the Westlake ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range E # LHWL304 would be a 10 ply tire with a 2,830-lbs per tire capacity that might work. However, this would involve changing wheels and making sure your trailer has the available clearance to add tires that are 2" taller.

If you wanted to go this route, let me know what bolt pattern is on your current wheels and I can see if there is something that would work for you. I've also linked some review videos of these tires for you to have a look at.

Hi Erik or whoever gets this. I also have a similar request like that of Cheryl H. I currently have your AM#32161 14" trailer tiers LR -D. I would like to replace them with a LR - E rating. My Bolt pattern is 5 - 4 1/2. Bolt size is 1/2"-20. Do you have a 14" wheel and tire rated LR-E or do you have something in a 15" radial which will fit my bolt size. Ideally, I would like a pair of wheels and tires set Thanks for your response. Bill

@BillO Hello Bill. We do not have any E-rated 14" tires. We have 15" E-rated tires like the Karrier ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire # AM10303. These are about 2" larger in diameter than you current tires though, so fender clearance may be an issue with these. We do have a 5 on 4-1/2" wheel to go with this, part # AM20545. If you do not have room for the larger tires, you will have to stick with the current ST205/75R14 and for that the load range D is the highest available.

Eric, Please explain how 4080 of load carrying tires haul 8000lbs of trailer?

@JeffG They wouldn't. You would have to use 4 of the Westlake ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire item # 274-000012, which would have a combined capacity of 8,160 lbs. We don't even have a 14" tire with that high of a capacity. To pull an 8,000 lbs trailer with only one axle you would need a load range H tire like the Westlake 215/75R17.5 Radial Trailer item # LHWL097.
