Wiring Pollak 40 amp Inline Circuit Breaker

Question:

Which side copper or silver should I hook up to battery and which side should hook up to 7 slot connector at rear of car? I am using this as auxillary power to trailer. Also, does it matter whether I use 10 gauge or 12 gauge wire? Thanks!

The wire from the power source, which is the battery in this case, will connect to the copper colored terminal labeled BAT. The run to the 7-way connector will connect to the silver terminal, labeled AUX.

12 gauge wire would be acceptable, but 10 gauge would allow for a greater amperage draw without overheating the wire.
