Features to know about

Upgrade Worn or Weak Brakes: Slip-On Disc Kit for Strong, Consistent Stopping

If your current brakes are fading or dragging, this DeeMaxx kit offers a big step up in performance. The 13" slip-on rotors fit over standard idler hubs and use your existing wheel bolts, so you don’t have to replace the whole hub-and-rotor assembly. Ceramic pads and a stainless steel piston deliver fast, responsive braking that feels smooth and controlled even at highway speeds.

Built to Handle Salt, Water, and Harsh Conditions: Maxx Coating for Superior Corrosion Resistance

Rust can take over fast when you tow near saltwater or drive on winter roads. The Maxx coating on the rotors, calipers, and brackets lasts more than 1,000 hours in salt spray testing—far beyond zinc or Dacromet finishes. Drainage holes in the hat section let water escape easily and help prevent internal corrosion. It’s a solid choice for anyone who wants long-lasting protection in wet or brackish environments.

Keeps Cool Under Heavy Loads: Vented Rotors and Smart Cooling Design

Long descents and heavy cargo can build up heat that weakens braking power. These vented rotors move air through the core to shed heat fast, while the drainage holes add extra ventilation. That combination helps prevent brake fade and pad wear, keeping performance consistent over time. It’s part of what allows these brakes to meet the high SAE J2681 automotive test standards for friction performance.

DIY-Friendly Upgrade: Bolt-On Assembly with Laser-Etched Instructions

This setup is designed for easy installation and maintenance. The slip-on rotors fit right over your existing hubs, and the brackets bolt into place without extra hardware changes. Each caliper has laser-etched bleeding instructions on the back, so you have guidance right where you need it during setup or service. The kit includes everything needed to upgrade one axle—two rotors, calipers, and brackets.

Built Strong for Demanding Use: 8,000-lb Axle Rating and 7-Year Warranty

Made with high-quality automotive-grade materials, this kit is built for strength and reliability on 8,000-lb axles with a 5/8" wheel bolt diameter and an 8 on 6-1/2" pattern. Backed by a 7-year warranty, these DeeMaxx disc brakes are engineered to deliver dependable stopping power season after season.

Video Transcript for DeeMaxx Disc Brakes | Expert Insights from the Manufacturer

Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here from etrailer. And today I'm at NATM. And this convention brings a lot of the vendors that we have at etrailer to a convention where we have their booths and their products set up. I had a chance to catch up with quite a few of them. So, let's take a look at their products a little bit up close and ask some of the questions to those vendors about their products. I'm here with Brandon from DeeMaxx and DeeMaxx offers a whole line of brake products, and we're gonna break these down.

Yeah. So, what is DeeMaxx as a company DeeMaxx, we are a light to medium-duty trailer disc brake manufacturer. We kind of have the whole assembly of the process now from the brake lines and fittings up to our actual brake parts themselves. Like, you see this rotor hub here, and the calipers all the way down to the actuators as well. So, here we have a disc brake assembly, caliper and rotor.

Let's break this down. What makes you guys stand out, you know, not only from a drum brake, but from a disc brake standpoint Yeah, absolutely. So, only thing we don't have on the table here that we do have on our backdrop and elsewhere in the booth, we've got the mounting brackets as well. So, we've got our slip-over rotor here. One of the big things that we, you know, that we we inchesre able to do at the start when DeeMaxx was created was Chuck wanted to put an emphasis on advantages over other disc brake manufacturers, not just having advantages over the drum brakes.

And one of the ways we did that in our rotor design is the holes in the hat. It's gonna promote the, like I said earlier, the better dissipation of heat, better draining and then more even plating on a coating. So, you've got a rotor that doesn't have the holes in the hat and you go to do the coating on it, you're gonna get that pocket of air in there, and you've got that pocket of air, you're gonna have to go back and redid that area or recoat that area. And it's not gonna be an easy coat. As far as calipers, you know, we carry everything for our brakes from 3.5K up to 16K axles.

The 7K and up, we're gonna have Kevlar pads in. That's kind of a new thing for us. From the end of 2023 beginning 2024 is the Kevlar pads. We really wanted to see our pads be able to grip a little bit more. For certain applications where the Kevlar may not be best, maybe going more with the stainless if you're in a marine industry. But the over-the-road guys, those utility guys, even the RVers that don't frequent the salt water communities, those guys, that the Kevlar pouch are just perfect for it. But best part about DeeMaxx is our seven-year warranty. We're not gonna discriminate based on the coating or type of product you've got. Whether you've got the Maxx, the stainless, everything's covered for seven years. So, we stand by our product in that, you know, the coating or the material shouldn't really waiver in the company's support for your product. Absolutely. And I've been able to install these on trailers and do the whole conversion. And I did my own break test, it's night and day. I think the guy that was towing it too, he was blown away. I mean, turning the game down by nearly 80% and getting this way better breaking even at that, it was really an eye-opener to me. Brandon Yeah. And you know, drum brakes, like you said, it's kind of an old technology and I love old hot rods, but if you have standard brakes on those, they're terrible for stopping. So, why would you do the same to your trailer We've come long way in technology. Yeah. Might as well keep yourself safe. Now, going back to pads, you mentioned Kevlar, is that gonna be for more long, like, longer lifespan, better bite What does Kevlar offer over a traditional pad So, the origination behind us going after wanting something that's gonna have that more bite to it, more resilience behind the material. We are very supportive of our military. We work hand in hand with every branch of the U.S. military all the way up to the guys out in outer space. And those guys we inchesre the ones that really came to us and said, "Hey, man, we're gonna need something that's gonna be beefier, it's gonna be able to stop, it's gonna meet these certain tests that the military has to meet, but these end users can't." And it's like, "Hey, you know, we've developed this Kevlar brake pad product and it's the U.S. military is using it." If it's good enough for them, I promise you it's good enough for the end user like you and me. Yeah. You know, it's interesting too as far as maintenance goes because many people with drum brakes, if you ask them, "Hey, are years in good condition" They're gonna go, "I don't know." Because most people aren't taking that off to take a look. And that's something with disc brakes, you can look at the pad and see where- Brandon Yup. You're at, and if you do need to change it. Yeah, you can. A lot of the drum brake guys as some of 'em say they've got the self adjusting ones. And it's like, if you're not getting in there and looking, are you willing to bet your family's safety, your work You know, these hot shot guys, are you willing to bet that that it's actually adjusting Probably not. So, you're gonna want to go in there and look at it yourself, check the adjustments. And that's when it goes down to the more and more maintenance on the drum break user versus the disc brake guy. They can take a peek in there, take a feel in there and be like, "All right, it's time to replace my pads." Now, if someone did wanna make the switch to disc brakes on their trailer camp or whatever it may be, what else would they need to get in order for that system to work We don't sell any, you know, full kits. We sell the actuators by itself. We sell the brake line kit by itself and our retail brake kit. You, guys, do a full thing, where y'all actually bundle those together and sell them as a complete system. So, if you knew what break kits you needed, what break line kits you needed, and say you know what actuator you needed, y'all have a kit for that, more than likely. Y'all have several kits of bundles, those all pieced together, which is super awesome for the neighbors. Oh, a huge thing to Brandon from DeeMaxx, taking the time to- Yeah. You know, really explain why disc brakes might be a great option. And I mean, these are this high-performance standard. These are awesome. So, thank you for your time. Yeah, absolutely, for your time. And appreciate you being here. Thank you guys for all your support. Thank you. Awesome.

Heavy duty mounting brackets and calipers. Very high quality.

by:

Great product great service

by:

Direct bolt on for factory trailer. The zinc coating looks like it will hold up to salt water

by:

The cap to the brake fluid broke in shipping wondering if u can send a new one

by:

DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit - 10" Rotor - 5 on 4-1/2 - Maxx Coating - 3,500 lbs came fast and well packed. Thank you

by:

An excellent job and taking care of a problem that I had on my original shipment very impressed. Well done.

by:

Ordering process went great!! Shipment arrived on schedule. Good experience overall

by:

Owned the system for over a year and no rust so far. I can tell the difference in the braking power.

by:

Now just need to install

by:

Great brake system, starting to rust now but I dunk my trailer in saltwater 4 times a week. Thank you George J and team for quick shipping and maintaining contact even a full year after initial sale. Will be using etrailer for future purchases!

by:

They do not come with the mounting bolts to mount the idlers to the rotors is not included, the cost is about $10 per pair. Surprised they are not included, you would think it would be turn key with all of the parts and not have to go shopping for additional mounting bolts.

by:

They have a good quality appearance. I couldn’t figure out what the 1” rubber grommet is for..?

by:

Fast Shipping, the brake kit is super easy to install and is working great.

by:

I have used these brakes on a boat trailer that is used in saltwater and so far it has been working with a small amount of corrosion. I think they will be good for another couple of years but will replace with stainless steel next time.

by:

Great jod, well done.

by:

The parts themselves are great, but the packaging was AWFUL. A big box with two rotors in it, with loose calipers and pads banging around inside with no additional packaging material to cushion these parts. Disappointed in the etrailer customer service team, who passed the blame to the shippers. I'm sorry, but the shippers didn't package these...etrailer did.

by:

Easy to install and looks great.

by:

I wasn’t sure what parts would fit my trailer so I called for information. Ashley L directed me to the correct disk brake kit which turned out to be the exact fit. A relatively easy install and now I’m back on the road again.

by:

I did not receive the 7/16 bolts that mount the caliper bracket to the axle I would not think I would have to use the old bolts there are six or seven years old to remount the bracket which I think would be absolutely absurd. That would be like put in a rocket into space and then when it comes back not rebuild the engine and send it back up why would you do that just saying. I feel that if I bought all of that Hardware meaning the brakes and whatnot but the bolts would be included

by:

Works great, easy to install. One improvement would be to include the hardware (bolts, nuts, washers) I had to make two trips to the hardware store. I gladly would’ve paid to have the hardware shipped with the brake set.

by:

Very nice, wish it came with coated mounting bolts also

by:

Having electric brakes compared to Electric over Hydraulic disk brakes is no comparison at all. I’m so pleased with our DeeMaxx brakes that I can’t believe regular brakes are still allowed. They surely are not safer and they are not cost effective. I may need brake pads soon, but that’s a good thing all I have to change are the pads, not the total braking mechanism like you have to do with the conventional systems. Anyone thinking of converting, it’s worth every penny. I’m now considering independent suspension.

The other part of that purchase is etrailer, its expert support personnel and experience is second to none. Ms. Bay helped me make sure I got everything I needed. She is an outstanding representative of the larger company, also outstanding, etrailer. It will always be my first stop because of Ms Bay. Happy New Years to you all.

by:

The calipers and brackets were original from 2018. Couldn’t get any more time out of them due to corrosion. I have coded the new ones with Cora seal and a few coats of zinc and rust oleum hoping I will be able to get a few more years out of them only time will tell.

by:

Installed these on 2 customer trailers and they are nice kits but... the caliper bolts back out as the factory installed Loctite doesn't hold. Contacted DeeMaxx and they refused warranty even though they admit they have had numerous problems. Have not had issues since cleaning the blue Loctite off and installing red. (and replacing all the damaged components)

  • Disc Brakes for Sundowner Toy Hauler With Lippert Drum 2420801
Hi James; Lippert wasn't able to identify the hub off of that number so I'm not 100% sure what bearing combination you have. It does look like it is an 8k hub with a 12" x 2" drum which isn't common. Another customer reported # 25580 inner and # 02475 outer bearings with some uncertainty but that would line up with your standard 8k bearing combination. Assuming that is correct, you can use the # KOD82FR if you're looking for a hub/rotor. If you want to use slip-on rotors you will need...
