Recommended Tilting Single Bike Rack For Carbon Frame Bike on 2011 BMW 3 Series With 1-1/4" Receiver

Question:

Hi, Im looking for recommendations for 1-bike carrier for a carbon fiber bike. I have a custom 1.25 hitch installed on my 2011 BMW 3 series, and need a light but strong carrier. Ill need to access the trunk when the carrier is installed.

I recommend taking a look at the RockyMounts MonoRail Solo 1 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount # RKY10007 which is our lightest tilting single bike rack at 25lbs, and is perfect for carbon frame bikes due to its wheel mount design that will not damage the frame of your bike. The # RKY10007 can support a bike weighing up to 60lbs, showing it a very sturdy rack, but will only fit Class II 1-1/4" trailer hitch receivers.

If the receiver on your 2011 BMW 3 Series is a Class I hitch you will need the Yakima SingleSpeed Bike Rack for 1 Bike - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount # Y02481 instead, but this rack does not have the tilting feature you mentioned you wanted.
