RockyMounts MonoRail Solo 1 Bike Platform Rack RKY10007 Compatibility with Specialized Vado
Updated 09/18/2018 | Published 09/17/2018 >
Question:
My Vado has a front fender that runs under the fork bridge. If I remove the fender, will the wheel mount fit properly on the tire just in front of the bridge? My bike dealer thinks it cannot or should not be located on top of the bridge. Pic below. Thanks.

Thank you for the photo of your Specialized Vado bike's front fork area which shows the fender and fork bridge.
A wheel-mount rack such as the RockyMounts MonoRail Solo 1 Bike Platform Rack # RKY10007 will work for your Vado if you remove the front fender. Since this type of rack uses an arm that slightly compresses the front tire to secure the bike you should be fine. I agree with your bike dealer that the arm should not be placed over the bridge but it does look like you'd have plenty of available space on the top of the tire surface for the arm to properly grip the tire and secure the bike.
