Question:

I have a 2007 itasca meridian 36g diesel pusher and would like to flat tow my 2019 Ram 1500 Limited 4x4. Can you help with baseplate, tow bar, wiring, and braking system? I think Id like the portable braking systems. Thank you.

A complete flat towing system consists of base plates, a compatible tow bar, safety cables, tow bar wiring/lighting solution, supplemental braking (required by law in most states and provinces) and possibly a high/low adapter.

For base plates I recommend using the Roadmaster EZ5 kit part # RM-522203-5 which is a confirmed fit on your 2019 Ram 1500 Limited. The most popular compatible tow bar is the Falcon All Terrain # RM-522. This has non-binding arms which makes the setup very easy to connect/disconnect.

For lighting/safety cables, locks, and covers for the tow bar we have the Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain kit part # RM-9243-1 which is a nice complement to the Falcon tow bar and gives you a nice comprehensive package in a single part number. The diode kit that comes with this allows you to splice into the taillight wiring so that your RV controls the vehicle taillights and does not require drilling into the taillight housings. This comes with a round 6-way connector that you will install on the front of your towed vehicle and enough coiled wire to go from there to the RV. The locks will help keep everything secure when you're stopped overnight or at a gas station, and the safety cables are a required part to give an extra layer of security if the tow bar or base plates fail.

For supplemental braking, which I mentioned is required by most states and provinces, the easiest system to set up and use is the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR. This system applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking, so it's going to help reduce some of the strain on your vehicle's brakes in situations where you aren't fully braking with the RV. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.

Most likely you will also need a high low adapter so that the tow bar will be level when you are flat towing. I attached a helpful article we did that explains how you can measure as well as our entire selection of those in various sizes.
