Options For Transporting 3 Bikes On A 2019 Nissan NV2500 Pulling A Camper

Question:

~ I have a 2019 Nissan NV3500 and tow a 1974 Airstream Argosy 22. Im looking for a GOOD bike rack to carry three bikes. I like to open the van rear doors when towing. The opening doors now clear the propane tanks by about three inches. Your suggestions for a rack. Thanks. ~

In order to install a bike rack on the back of your 2019 Nissan NV2500 when pulling a camper, you could use Stromberg Carlson Bike Bunk Trailer-Mounted Bike Rack Carrier for A-Frame Trailers # CC-275. This mounts to the tongue of A-Frame trailers with widths between 12" - 52". The mounting bracket dimensions are 8" tall, 4-3/4" wide, and 2" deep; so you will want to compare this to your trailer to determine compatibility. You can add a 2-bike rack to this bike rack carrier such as Swagman Platform-Style 2 Bike Carrier # S64663. Unfortunately you can not use a 3-bike rack for this application due to the excess weight of a third bike. The distance from the center of hitch pin hole to the edge of upright arm is 10-1/2".

You also may be able to use RV Bumper 2 Bike Rack # S80605 which is designed to be used for continuous welded steel square bumpers at least 4" wide, but no more than 4-1/2" wide.

Your last option is to use a roof-mounted bike rack that can hold 2 bikes. You will need Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 71" Long # RRVA180B-2 along with Legs # RRRLT600 and Brackets # RRQMFK20-2. You can then add Rhino-Rack XTray Pro Cargo Basket and 2 Bike Carrier 58-1/4" x 41" # RRRMCB03 which is a cargo basket with built-in fork mounts for 2 bikes. I have attached demonstration videos for these products.
