Question:
Hi, my car has a 13 pin EU female connector for trailer wiring. Is there an adapter that converts to a 4 pin US connector? I see adapters that convert from 13 to 7 and then from 7 to 4, is that an option?

There is not a simple adapter to plug into your existing 13-pin connector to convert to a US 4-pole connection. You can use a Curt # C56175 harness which has a 4-pole connection on one end and wires to splice into your tow vehicles lighting system.
I have attached a video that discusses the installation
