Question:

Hello! I am looking to replace my standard pin box SPB72-1621LD with either the rota flex or the mor- ryde. Which one does a better job eliminating chucking? What would be the part number to be a direct replacement? I have a 2017 f250 crewcab short bed with a Demco autoslide hitch. Thanks!

If you're comparing the Tailair Rota-Flex that replaces a 1621 or 1621HD Lippert pin box, part # LC328330, with the MORryde equivalent (part # MR64VR for 5th-wheel trailers with up to 11,500-lb GVWR, and part # MR84VR for 5th-wheel trailers with 14,001 to 18,000-lb GVWR), then I recommend going with the Trailair.

The Rota-Flex is built with chucking and road shock in mind, so it utilizes a pivoting head with a built-in rubber compound. The pivoting head allows for controlled movement of king pin within your hitch, which improves handling and reduces chucking. The rubber compound absorbs the road shock. I've linked to a video review of this pin box for you to look at.

As for the direct replacement of your SPB72-1621LD, it would be one of the MORrydes from above. Look at the GVWR of your 5th wheel to determine which is the correct one for you.
