The Stromberg Carlson 100 Series 5th Wheel Tailgate with Open Design for Ford Trucks # VG-97-100 is similar to the tailgate you were looking at and would be one of the few steel replacement tailgates we offer designed for towing 5th wheel or gooseneck trailers; it is the only one that we have available to fit late 90s-2014 Ford Super Duty trucks. This tailgate is made from a heavy duty steel and even though it only weighs 34-lbs, it's a strong and durable choice that will give you a bit of extra clearance from your gooseneck trailer's coupler. The recessed part of this tailgate is 15" wide and 10-3/4" deep, so it provides plenty of room for your gooseneck coupler to move around.
