Question:
Hi, can you tell me how much this hitch and the base rails weigh? I’m worried we’ll go over payload with a hitch this size. Thanks! https://www.etrailer.com/multi-product.aspx?pc1=DM8550034andpc2=DM39FRandVehicleID=20215001867andHHYear=2021andHHMake=ChevroletandHHModel=Silverado+2500

The Demco Hijacker Autoslide # DM8550034 weighs 273-lbs, and the rail kit # DM39FR weighs approximately 100-lbs. This rail kit is confirmed to fit on your 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500.
If you're looking for something a bit lighter, the Demco Hijacker Premier Series Ultra Slide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider - Single Jaw - 21K # DM6076P-UL-21K weighs about 212-lbs and also uses the # DM39FR rails to install. This is one of the lighter available hitches that can still tow a rather heavy 5th wheel, so it might be a better option. The drawback is that this is not an autoslide hitch like the other Demco, and only provides 8" of fore/aft clearance, so it may not provide the needed clearance for your trailer to clear the truck cab when making sharp turns; but it is lighter. You can use the following formula to determine exactly how much clearance you'll need.
A = Distance from center of fifth wheel hitch jaw to truck cab
B = Amount of travel on sliding hitch (14" or 8")
C = Width of trailer divided by 2 (to get half)
(A + B) - C = Clearance
As long as you get a positive number, you'll have the clearance needed to make a 90 degree turn with your 5th wheel trailer and truck; anything less than that and you will potentially get contact with the cab of the truck and trailer.
I've linked a review video for the Hijacker Autoslide, as well. If you can let me know what the size of the trailer you're towing is, I might be able to find a lighter option, but it would likely mean going with a manually operated slider. It looks like your payload capacity is at least 3600-lbs, so your trailer would need to have a roughly 3200-lbs pin weight to put you over that capacity
