Snugtite Hitch Hand Knob Stuck On Thule Apex XT Swing 4

Question:

When the knob key lock is in the locked position it will just spin endlessly which is correct, however when the knob key lock is in the unlocked position, the knob is frozen and will not budge. What can be the issue?

I spoke to my contact at Thule and their recommendation to free up the knob on your Thule Apex XT Swing 4 # TH9027XT was to use a spray lubricant and compressed air to try and remove any debris that could be keeping the knob from turning. I noticed in the picture that it appears the rack is not on the vehicle so I would make sure with the key unlocked you are turning the knob clockwise, it may be difficult to turn at first so don't be afraid to turn it hard.

If you are unable to get the knob to turn after the troubleshooting steps we went over you can submit a warranty claim to have your rack inspected and possibly replaced by Thule.
