Question:
I own a GMC 2500 Denali HD with a 2 1/2inch receiver. In your comments/notes section, you state the locking pin will not fit 2010 and newer GM HD vehicles with a 2 1/2inch receiver. Therefore, is it possible to purchase the sleeve without the locking pin? If so, what is the part number and price for the sleeve alone?

Expert Reply:
You are correct. Some OEM 2-1/2 inch hitches from different vehicle manufacturers are too wide for the standard size pin due to extra material on the outside of the hitches. You can get a reducer sleeve by itself.
You can use reducer sleeve # DTADP25-SS. Our customers have found that it fits the GM trucks with 2-1/2 inch receivers but not Ford OEM 2-1/2 inch receivers due to a slight design difference. Since you have a GM reducer # DTADP25-SS will work.
For a locking pin that will fit use # e98881. It has a 3-5/8 inch span. I have included a link to a video review of the lock for you.
