Is 5,000 lb Fulton Marine Jack Easier to Use Than 2,500 lb Fulton Marine Jack
Question:
MJSQ-2500B vs. HD50000101 is there going to be a difference in the internal gearing? 2500 lbs is enough for my needs, but will the 5000lbs version be easier to jack up due to a change in gear ratio? thanks

That's a really good question, and the answer is yes, the 5,000 lb capacity Fulton Marine Jack # HD50000101 will be easier to jack up than the 2,500 lb etrailer Marine Jack # MJSQ-2500B.
The gears are in fact different, with the smaller 2,500 capacity jack having gears that are both smaller in diameter and less teeth. So while both of these jacks are high-quality with good salt spray rating, and fit trailer frames up to 3" wide x 5" tall, if you are looking for the jack that is going to be easier to crank, then you will want the 5,000 lb capacity Fulton Marine Jack # HD50000101.
