This compact light uses three white LEDs that shine bright on your license plate without pulling much power. Jeff: Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this Optronics LED Chrome Plated Trailer License Plate Light. Now, this is a nice compact LED light that illuminates your trailer's license plate. It does use three LEDs. Those LEDs make great replacements for incandescent lights, because first, they'll last 50 times longer.
They are more efficient, because they'll provide brighter light with less power output. Of course, no bulbs having to replace or no brittle filaments that'll break. Of course, LEDs have lifetime warranty on them. This is a nice snap-on chrome housing. Uses a durable polycarbonate housing and lens.
As you can see it as a clear lens over white LEDs. It is compatible with 12V DC systems.It is a surface mount design. You can see it'll mount to the trailer with these stainless steel mounting ears here. Now, the hardware to install them is not included. It is a 2-wire design.
It includes the black power wire, and the white ground wire. Now, I am going to hook this up to some power just to show you how bright the light is. This light is DOT, Department of Transportation compliant. Few dimensions on it. Let's do the mounting holes center to center first.
The mounting holes center to center is 3 1/4 inches. The overall width from this edge. Or mounting tab to this end of the mounting tab is right at 4 inches. The height of it, is going to be about 1 3/4 inches tall. The depth of it from the mounting tab out is about 2 3/8 inches long.Now, what I'm going to do is we're going to hook this up to some power. Your black wire will be your 12V power, and then your white wire. I do have the power turned on, so it should light up. There we go. You can see there's your light. I'm going to go ahead and turn off the overhead light. You can see with the overhead light off for three LEDs it does give you very bright white light to light up your license plate. There's the three LEDs. Then we'll go ahead and turn back on our overhead light, remove our power.But that should do it for the review on the Optronics LED Chrome Plated Trailer License Plate Light.

The license plate light is working well after one year. I would recommend the light.
