Question:
I see that there are two different wiring sets for the liberty. one is for tow ready the other is for non-tow ready. how do i determine weather my jeep is tow ready or not? Is there some key feature I can look at to know before I get under the jeep with the wrong wires?

The most efficient way to determine if your vehicle has the tow package is to take your VIN number to a Jeep dealer and have them run it. They will be able to tell whether or not you have the tow package with that information.
Or you could check the wiring in your vehicle to see if the correct connectors are present on your vehicle. Check out the installation instructions I attached that will show you how to access the area.
If you have the tow package, or if you find the harness then you can use the # 42475. Otherwise you will need to get a Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118524.
