Replacement Tires and Wheels for 2015 Karavan Waverunner Trailer

Updated 10/18/2020 | Published 10/16/2020

Question:

Hello, I recently bought 2 Seadoo GTX waverunners on a 2015 Karavan trailer. Current tires are ST185/80/13, Load Range C. Very low miles on the trailer, but they are original tires, despite low miles. There is no spare tire/ wheel, but I want one. One of the original tires has sidewall cracks, so it may be untrustworthy. I want to buy 2 new tires with Silver painted wheels with the Triangle cut pattern, in a D rated tire to replace my original tires, mounting them both on my Trailer and using the best offinch as my spare. How can you help?

Because you're starting to see some cracking in the sidewalls, this is absolutely a good call on your part, and we can help you replace everything you need.

The Loadstar ST175/80D13 Bias Trailer Tire - Load Range D # AM1ST77 that you were looking at are a good choice for the tires, and the Load Range D will give you 1610-lbs capacity per tire. These are ST tires that have reinforced sidewalls designed to carry heavy loads on trailers and are rated for speeds of up to 81mph.

For the wheels, if you've got a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern, the Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel - 13" x 4-1/2" Rim - 5 on 4-1/2 - Galvanized Finish # AM20234 have the triangle cutout pattern you were looking for and would fit on the tires mentioned above. If you've got a 4 on 4" bolt pattern, the Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel - 13" x 4-1/2" Rim - 4 on 4 - Galvanized # AM20224 would be the same wheel as above with a more appropriate bolt pattern. Both of these wheels are galvanized steel, so they're ideal for boat trailers and will hold up to exposure to bolt salt and fresh water.

Unfortunately there isn't currently a wheel/tire combo with the ST185/80/13 tires that would be exactly what you're looking for, but since trailer wheels don't require balancing, you could likely install these wheels yourself and put them on the trailer without needing a trip to a tire shop.

I've linked some review videos of these parts for you to have a look at.
