Question:
Trailer is 1/4 ton. With max payload, total weight will be no more than 1200lb Have 2020 Ford ranger so want to use same bolt pattern 6x139.7mm 6x5.5in Looking for axle-less with electric brakes and controller, to fit 17 or 18 inch wheels probably all terrain tires - mostly paved and a little light forest trail usage

To use a wheel with a bolt pattern of 6 on 5-1/2 with a Timbren Axle Less system part # ASR35HDS02 you could do so with the # 8-201-9UC3-EZ for an idler hub or part # K08-201-98 for a brake hub. Then for brake assemblies the part # AKEBRK-7-SA would work really well.
For an easy to install and use brake controller the Curt Echo part # C51180 basically just plugs into an active 7-way and once synced to a smart phone is ready to tow.
