Straight Tongue Coupler Mounting Hole Locations To Ensure Vertical and Horizonal Alignment

Question:
Im trying to replace my current 3500 lb. rated straight tongue 2 ball 3 channel coupler with ideally a 6000 lb. rated one. I purchased a Husky 87076 from another vendor but dimensionally its different from my current no-name brand I need 1.00 from where coupler rests on the 3 channel to center of mounting holes so they align vertically AND I need at least 5.00 from open end of coupler to where it starts necking down at the ball mount end see pictures. Will this Fulton F346000301 work for me or do I need to find another 5000 lb. rated coupler, if so which one?

Expert Reply:
The Fulton Fas-Lok Coupler - 2" Ball - 3" Channel - 6,000 lbs # F346000301 you referenced has a 2 inch ball and fits a 3 inch channel. The holes are measured on center at 3 inches apart. The holes will be 1 inch on center from the top and are 1/2 inch diameter. The length from the end to the front of the channel will be right at 5 inches. This is my recommendation for you.
