Replacement Coupler for Shelby 5107 Trailer Coupler

Updated 02/03/2026 | Published 07/22/2024

Question:

Is this a direct bolt on replacement for the Shelby 5107 2" 7500 rating? Is there a repair kit for the Shelby 5107 2" 7500# coupler? It has become a little "sloppy" and moves a little on the hitch.

Hi Steve; first of all no, there are no repair kits since Shelby went out of business years ago. The # DM15000-52 and # 12564 can replace it assuming you have a 3" wide channel tongue but you will probably have to drill new holes.

We don't have the mounting hole spacing for the 5107 to check and typically there isn't a good match when replacing old couplers. I went ahead and attached some diagrams with the bolt spacing below so you can compare them to what you have now.

Hey Steve, how did your comparison go between the Shelby coupler and the Demco replacements? Were you able to find one that matched your bolt spacing? Sharing what worked could help others replacing older Shelby models.
