Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2021 Volvo XC90

Question:

I have a 2021 Volvo XC90, and would like to add a hitch receiver so I can transport 3 or 4 bikes on a bike rack. I checked out Draw Tite’s website and also asked their customer service to see if any of their hitches would fit my vehicle, but they couldn’t give me a clear answer and asked me to contact the service department at a Volvo dealer. But the service department at my dealership also didn’t provide a firm answer and noted that the manufacturer of the part should confirm that. Can you please help? Thank you.

Draw-Tite hasn't confirmed the fit of any of their hitches for your 2021 Volvo XC90.

This being said, Curt offers a confirmed fit, part # C13233. If you'll be towing with the hitch, you'll need a wiring harness, a ball mount/hitch pin and a trailer ball. For a wiring harness, Curt hasn't confirmed fit of a plug and play option yet, so I'd recommend a hardwired taillight harness, part # C59236. For a ball mount, use # D-28 and # PC-3 for a hitch pin. For a 1-7/8 inch trailer ball, use # 19260 or # 63845 for a 2 inch ball.

If you don't yet have a bike rack, you certainly can't go wrong with the Swagman Traihead, part # S63380. The Trailhead can handle 4 bikes weighing up to 35 lbs apiece. The rack features sturdy rubber cradles to hold your bikes securely without damaging them, with an added anti-sway feature that prevents the bikes from swinging back and forth while being transported.
