Is there a harness for a 2008 Silverado PU?

On your 2008 Silverado there is not a wire connector to plug in a brake controller wiring harness but there is a bundle of wires under the dash with a white tag on it to help you identify the wires for the brake controller. This bundle will contain a thick blue wire also. Once you have the wire bundle located you will have to hard wire the brake controller to these wires. The thick blue wire on the truck goes to the blue wire on the brake controller, the light blue wire with the white stripe goes to the red wire on the brake controller, the red wire with a black stripe will go to the black wire on the brake controller, and the white wire will go to the white wire on the brake controller.

I am including a link to a video of a brake controller being installed in a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado. It will show all of the connections mentioned above.

If you have a factory 7-Way connector on your vehicle that is all that will need to be done to install a brake controller in your vehicle.

If you do not have a 7-Way factory trailer connector on your vehicle you will still install the brake controller as above, but you will also need to install a 7-Way at the rear of your vehicle using the Pollak Twist-in, 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector, part # PK11916. This connector will twist into the existing cutout on your bumper and plug into the factory wiring harness on your vehicle. I am including a link to a video of the trailer connector being installed on a vehicle.
