It sounds like you have a smaller hitch receiver on your 2019 CX-5 and have a 2 inch shank on your bike rack.
The best option is to use the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 76138 which will work perfectly with your 2 inch bike rack without losing any tongue weight capacity.
If you have a class I or class II hitch with a 1-1/4 inch receiver you can use a hitch expander like # HTAD or the expander with 5 Inch rise # HT5R. Both of these options will reduce the tongue weight by 50% which depending on the hitch capacity, weight of the rack, and weight of the bikes may reduce the carrying capacity of the rack.
