Question:
I bought the primus iq brake controller and 2 plug adapter for my 2016 Ford F150, installed it myself and it worked like a charm. I recently bought a 2020 F150 and wanted to use my primus iq for my new truck. I checked the website and it looks like all of the part numbers are the same but when I plug in the controller in get nothing. Ford is telling me I need to buy the OEM controller which will cost around $400 with labor. Everything Im reading on the website says this part should work. What am I missing?

For whatever reason, some F-150 models will have the plug in the dash for the brake controller, but the 12 volt power feed to that connector hasn't been connected. You may need to add a 30A fuse in the distribution box under the hood, in location # 24. If location # 24 is NOT pinned, you'll need to run your own wire to the controller. We offer a kit, part # BRK-ELECKIT that will correct this.
I've provided an install link for a different controller, but the procedure for your # TK90160 Primus would be the same. The # 22292 harness shown in the video is the same as the 3036-P harness you have. The portion of the video where the power feed is wired begins at the 6:10 minute mark.
Watch the video, and save yourself almost $ 400.00.
