Electric Trailer Brakes Locking Up On One Side Of The Trailer

I had the drivers side electric brake hang up on my trailer. What are the causes of just one side hanging up?

If it is only happening on one side then it could be a short in the wire for that side, a mechanical issue with the moving parts with in the brake assembly and or a foreign object became lodged inside the drum. I would check all of these and also check the bearings to make sure they are not damaged. If all is clear then it is most likely a mechanical issue with the brake assembly itself. To make it easier on yourself I recommend replacing the brake assembly.
