Question:
What is the Towing Capacity of 2004 Chevy Silverado 2wd regular cab Long wheel base 4.3 V6 Engine

Expert Reply:
According to an online copy of the owner's manual, for bumper pull towing, the 2004 Silverado Regular Cab Long Bed with the 4.3L engine can tow 4400 lbs with the automatic transmission and 3.08 rear axle or 4900 lbs with the 3.42 axle. For a manual transmission, its 3400 lbs with the 3.08 rear end or 3900 lbs with the 3.42.
5th wheel towing capacities aren't listed for the 4.3L V6.
The Curt Class III hitch you'd looked at, part # 13322 is a fit for your 2004 Silverado. For a ball mount/trailer ball combo, I'd recommend the etrailer # 989900 kit which includes 2 ball mounts, two trailer balls and two hitch pins.
