Yes, it is possible to tow a trailer with electric brakes using a 2017 GMC Terrain. In order to do this you'll need to start with the trailer connector, the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 56094 for models without the factory tow package or part # C56210 if you do is what I recommend. Then, this can be converted to a 7-way with the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit part # ETBC7L which will then work perfectly with a wireless brake controller like the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180.
