How Tight to Get Tower Bases of Blue Ox Kargard

Question:
How tight should the bolt be on the part that connects the kargard to the tow bar? It seems to me that the tow bar bracket needs to be able to pivot in order to connect it to the base plate? I think that’s how the original bolt was in the Alpha tow bar, but I’m not sure.

Blue Ox does not list an exact torque spec for the tower bases of the Kargard # BX8870 you referenced. They say to basically tighten it firmly but not too tight as that will cause difficulty in folding the tow bar and undertightening will cause looseness in the legs and tower. I wish I could be more specific but you'll just have to experiment with tightness till you find the best setting.
