Question:

I installed the Curt 7 blade T-connector to my Honda Pilot. All the lights on the trailer are working except the brake lights. This is with running lights on or off. Grounds are good. I Traced the brake light with a probe from the Honda trailer harness plug and the Curt connector runs this wire around the converter. I have the E-brake fuse removed so its definitely the brake light wire as it toggles when the brakes are applied. My trailer definitely has a combined signal/brake line. If the brake light wire is bypassing the converter, how are the brake lights supposed to work if its not being combined with the signal lights? Am I missing something? It definitely doesn't sound right to have your brake light wire bypass your module. The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector # CU86FR has multiple fuses that all need to be in the correct locations and functional and then you also need to make sure the ground wire connection is good. Often when a one function doesn't work, the fuse or a weak ground connection is the issue. I recommend making sure the ground connection is bare metal to metal (even free of paint) for best working conditions.
