Question:

Hi I have got one of the kingpin box model : LIPP1621. Can the kingpin can be replaced or should we change the complete box. Also when do we know the kingpin is out of manufacturers wear limits. How do i buy if i just need the kingpin only , Not complete box. Early reply would be much appreciated.

Generally Pin Boxes will last the life of the trailer. Some cases where the pin box has experienced alot of chucking and bucking they can see wear. There isn't just a king pin replacement available so you want the Lippert 1621/1621HD 5th Wheel Pin Box part # LC1191191 for a standard replacement or the Trailair Rota-Flex 5th Wheel Pin Box part # LC328330 for a little upgrade.

I really like the Rota-Flex unit because it makes for a much nicer ride quality. Check out the video I did on it below.

Keep in mind with the standard you will not be replacing the side plates unless they are bent or damaged.
