Question:

I have a 2004 Newmar Kountry Star, we had step problems on a trip and replaced the module Kwikee #1800709 which I was told is not the correct module but was all they had. The step worked but it didnt control the power switch to leave steps out when door was closed. I want to replace the module now with a proper module lippert #164889. The fellow that changed the module on our trip said there would be a wire change to put back a proper module. Any help would be appreciated. The problem was with a naturally open or closed module is what the fellow said when we changed it on our trip.

We do offer the module that you need with the Replacement Control Module for Lippert Electric Coach Step part # LC301702. This will plug into the original connector and it will allow the proper functions.

If the correction was made after the connector there will be no need to re wire or change anything. If the change was made before the connector you will have to take a look at which wires have been cut if it is just two then switch them back. If he changed more than one you will have to identify the colors of the wires and match them back up. I'm sorry this is vague but I really have no way of knowing what he switched. You will be able to use wire color to determine where they shoud go back to however.
