Recommended Roof Rack to Use Thule Hullavator On Subaru Outback

Hi, I have two Subaru outbacks 2012, 2017 and would like to purchase a Thule hullavator Kayak carrier I was told that factory roof rack is not compatible . What crossbars/ roof rack system do we need to purchase to accommodate the Hullavator? It would be nice if there was one that fit both cars.

The Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack part # MPG216 is a great cost effective option that will work well on a Subaru Outback Wagon. It will then match up perfectly with the Thule Hullavator Pro Kayak Carrier part # TH898. That said, it is correct that you cannot use the factory crossbars since these don't provide the needed overhang.
