I just bought the WandB 2 5/16 ball and wanted to know what socket size I need to tighten the nut down?

The nut on a hitch ball with a 1-1/4" diameter shank, like the B&W # BWHB94002, takes an 1-7/8" socket, like # ALL643216 (for use with a 3/4" drive socket wrench) for example.

Hitch balls with an 1-1/4" shank require 450 ft/lbs of torque.

I went out to the warehouse and found that the nut that comes with the B&W 2-5/16" Hitch Ball #BWHB94009 is 1-3/4" tall as you can see in the attached picture. The 2" diameter shanks that we have are all 3-1/2" long so there…

We do have the Curt fixed ball mount part #C45458 which fits a 2-1/2 inch hitch and has a 4 inch drop like you said you needed. I attached a review video for this ball mount for you to check out as well.

The install hardware that is included with the Curt Hitch part #13322 that you referenced includes bolts that are M14-2.00. That size of bolt head calls for a 21 millimeter socket or wrench. I attached an install video for you to check out as well.
