Today we're going to take a look at the BMW two and five sixteenth hitch ball with the one inch rise. This is in a raw finish, has a 24,000 lbs weight capacity. This hitch ball will provide a connection point for your trailer's coupler, this built in rise right here will let it easily match the ball to your trailer height. The trailer ball will sit about an extra inch above the ball mount platform, the threads on the shank itself are twelve threads per inch, which will provide a tight, strong grip. It is made of a heat treated steel, which is very durable, has a nice raw finish to it. It does include the lock, washer, and the nut.
This part is made in the USA. A few specs on this, and they are stamped on the top of the ball also. The ball diameter itself is two and five sixteenths, the weight capacity is 24,000 lbs, and again we mentioned, I'm just going to put a ruler on it just to give you an idea of the rise, which is this portion right here. This is going to be right at one inch rise, and then on the shank itself, the total length of the shank is going to right at two and a half inches, and the diameter is going to be right at one and a quarter inches. When you go to install it, you should drop this into the hole on the ball mount, put your lock washer on, take your nut, go ahead and screw that on, and then just tighten that down to the correct torque specs for the application. That should do it for the review of the BMW two and five sixteenth hitch ball with the one inch rise and a raw finish, and a 24,000 lbs weight capacity.

Raw, heat-treated hitch ball from B&W has a 1-1/4" diameter x 2-1/2" long shank with 12 threads per inch. Built-in rise lets you match ball to your trailer's height. Designed for heavy-duty towing. Its a good quality ball, threads were smoother than the curt and drawtite balls, Price and shipping as always great with etrailer. good rating. The extra inch part looks good and strong. Im new to the B&W name, after buying some of their products i will only be buying that name brand, and its made in the USA. Pro and cons imo IT needs flats on ball base part where you can put a wrench/adjustable on. Doesn't need much, this would keep you from using a pipe wrench to hold ball while you tighten the nut. Ball needs to be anodized to keep it from rusting. The B&W ball mounts has a high quality black powder coating. Yea the ball itself will rust no mater what when used, but the rest would be protected. Hope my review helps Rob
Quality material
Impressive piece of steel, top quality. Just started using it, absolutely no issues. Uses a 1-7/8" bolt and tightened up without issue. B&W recommends spraying it with white lithium grease for corrosion prevention. With a 24,000 lbs. rating it's definitely not going to be the weak link in your towing setup.
GREAT QUALITY!
Exactly what I needed to level my camper rig in tow
really nice looking and work really good. nice to have that much wieght caring abililty.
ordered and was given a time of delivery----they exceeded time by delivery early--It was a very good experience!!

Well made and perfect fit, thanks etrailer for having the ball with correct shank diameter I needed and getting it shipped quickly. Was stuck not being able to get a trailer I purchased and couldn't find the 1 3/8 diameter shank anywhere but etrailer.

The B&W 2 5/16" ball is of a high quality build, just what I would expect. My only concern is that the base of the ball has no flat grab sides for a wrench to hold it still while the nut is being tightened. Once I got it as tight as I could, both the nut, shank and ball rotated as one. I did not want to use a pipe wrench to hold the base of the ball and gouge tool marks into the metal and finish. Something with this much weight rating, I think, should be able to be tightened down to a recommended torque spec, which was absent from the mounting instructions. I tightened it as much as I could and put a torque stripe along the mount, nut and threads... So far, it has not moved. Other than that, I think its great.

The ball came earlier than expected which was awesome. My husband put it on his truck as soon as he got it out of the post office. We haven't pulled anything with it yet but are excited to take a weekend trip with our side by side soon. It is definitely sturdy enough to pull our tractor from one farm to the other when mowing season comes back in. Thank you for a high quality part.

s a full tim RVer, I've had the hitch now for about 14 months and have to say with the exception of it not coming apart on me, I'm pretty disappointed with the condition. Ive got about 10k plus miles on it. See attached photos. Its very noisy. It likes to slam forward and aft. They put pucks on the side to side but not forward to aft. The paint almost immediately started to flake with in one month of use and continued to..to-date. The bolt holding the yoke preventing forward and aft movement sherred with only 80 inch lbs of torque...twice. the factory and the replacement they sent me. Finally I had to upgrade the bolt to a harder bolt to alow me to get to the required torque of 100 inch pounds. The bolt has to be torqued every trip. Long trips...every day. The design distributes the load on the flat bed and bends bends the bed. Unfortunately, there is not much out there to choose from so its give and take. Its done the job but would like to see it hold up better and see some design changes. I just ordered a new base today so we will see how it does.

Wanted a "Made in USA" product. This was overkill for our needs, but it will last forever. Can develop minor surface rust, but not enough to be a nuisance.

Used this hitch ball for a custom gooseneck hitch I made for a semi, the original was to short so in external articulation I would scrap the gooseneck and hitch. Buy this ball with the 1” lift in it really helped and I can’t get the hitch to hit anymore! Working great

I selected this ball to equip a heavy-duty W/D hitch system that I was buying for my new truck. I didn't actually need equipment with this much capacity given that our current trailer only weighs ~5200 lbs loaded, but I didn't want to have to replace anything if we upgrade to a much heavier trailer since the truck can easily handle anything that I'd ever dare to tow. This ball is still in perfect condition (I keep it clean & greased), and the only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars is that it was impossible to tighten fully to spec since it didn't have opposing "flats" on the base to put a wrench on and keep it from turning while torqueing the nut down.

I purchased four of these two at a time for a construction job my dad was doing the first two we got fairly early and work like a dream so then we ordered two more of them they are the exact same thing unfortunately he did not make it long enough to use the other two but given the opportunity I would purchase them again

Bought for my old pickup to haul my new gooseneck horsetrailer. It's rated with a much higher towing capacity than what my trailer needs, but I like the security of knowing that. Product is exactly like the photo and precisely the right size.

The ball rusts at the surface. I took some emory cloth to it, cleaned it up, and sprayed clear coat on it to inhibit rust. Each time you tow, that clear wears off, so shoot it again after each tow if you don't tow frequently.
Review from a similar Heat-Treated Hitch Ball in Trailer Hitch Ball
The gooseneck hitch in my pickup was threaded to accept a ball. The threads were damaged beyond repair and this was the only ball I could find with a long enough shank to reach through my hitch plate and still have enough threads for a nut on the backside. Worked perfectly. Just what I needed! Ball is high quality and well made.

The B&W 30,000 pound ball is an excellent no-frills option. It's extremely durable. We prefer to use the nut AND weld the base to the mounting plate. Reliability and durability are important for our needs. We have a few one ton trucks and several trailers. This ball exceeds the weight rating of every piece of equipment. It's a great option for our needs. Please remember to chock your trailer.
