Can Thule ProBar Heavy Duty Load Bars be Shortened if Needed

Question:
Can you cut the bars down a bit so they dont hang over the side of the truck? I will be placing them on a T-slot track over the bed of the truck and 79inch is a bit too wide but the 69inch is a bit too short. Can I cut a 79inch down to make it fit the way I want and not sacrifice any structural integrity?
