Compatibility of CVT Transmission Vehicles with Towing Behind Motorhome

Question:
Can you tow a Honda Fit or Chevy Spark/Sonic with CVT transmission, 4 down?
asked by: Roger
Helpful Expert Reply:
The answer is no. The CVT transmissions do not allow for towing 4 wheels down. Depending on the vehicle, you may be able to use a tow dolly instead of a trailer. With both of the models you listed, they can use a tow dolly like # RM-2050-1. I've linked the page to all the tow dolly options we carry.
You can always look at online owners manuals for information like this to confirm function prior to purchasing a vehicle or taking a salesman's word for it.
