On your 2008 Nissan Pathfinder the Towing Relay 2 fuse is the brown relay, like the one included in kit # C57000.This relay will activate the 12-volt power circuit on the 7-Way connector. This relay is located in a fuse box under the hood, next to the vehicles battery. Next to the brown relay will be Towing Relay 1 (blue) which should be installed to activate the running lights and signal for the 4-pin towing harness.
To charge a trailer battery from the 7-Way you should be using the pin in the 1 o'clock position (if looking at the vehicle side 7-Way). This pin is the 12-volt battery output to the trailer. You will need to make sure that the trailer side connector pin for the matching location (11 o'clock position if looking at the face of the connector) goes to the trailer battery.
You can test the vehicle side 7-Way buy using a circuit teste, part # PTW2993, and testing the pin. If you get voltage, then the wire is connected properly, and you will not have to make any changes to the vehicle side. If it does not show voltage, you may need to check that the wire is connected to a power source by tracing the wire back.
The 12-volt circuit on a trailer connector cannot charge a battery, it can only maintain the current charge level of the battery. You would still need to periodically charge the battery using a battery charger like # 329-GENIUS5. I am including a link to a video review of this charger for you.
