Correct Positioning of Shackle Strap
Updated 04/07/2020 | Published 04/06/2020 >
Question:
At what angle should the shackle strap be mounted? I have to weld on the leaf spring brackets. It wasn’t don’t properly the first time. I attached a photo of my current situation. I have to move the rear bracket back a little.

There is no set angle, but you want to leave enough room for the suspension to articulate. By looking at the photo, you will indeed need to move the rear hanger back a bit. The shackle strap be much closer to vertical, as shown in the diagram provided.
