how can the tips that go on the trailer be strong enough to hold the weight of a 2,000 lb sidexside

The ramp set part # 288-07489 that you referenced has a combined weight capacity of 3,000 lbs for both. Individually each has a 1,500 lb capacity and each ramp has three prongs that lean on the trailer. So each of them is rated for 500 lbs basically. The prongs are made from a very thick aluminum and since they are very long there isn't much leverage on them which is how they are capable of the weight. You should note that these have been extensively weight capacity tested so they definitely can handle the weight of your side by side without issue.
