Correct Equal-i-zer Hitch for Flagstaff Micro Lite 21DS
Published 03/25/2020 >
Question:
Hello: I am likely going to purchase a Flagstaff Micro Lite 21DS. I just purchased a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado 3.6l V-6 So I am beginning to research hitches. Specs state a 614 pound tongue weight and a Gross Trailer Weight fully loaded of just under 7,000 poundslike 6,775. I am thinking either: EQ37120ET or EQ37100ET Are these overkill, just right, or too light? I assume I have to figure out how much rise or on the actual hitch I need, and buy the ball mount to fit that, correct? But then, either of the above hitches would fit? Thanks

Helpful Expert Reply:
The Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control part # EQ37100ET is the perfect option for a Flagstaff Micro Lite 21DS so that is what I recommend. The trailer while fully loaded will still be well within the tongue and trailer weight range of the system and that is what makes it a perfect option. It sounds like you have already done quite a bit of research since you have found the best hitch. I am fully confident you will be happy with the Equal-i-zer and glad you choose it. The next size system up would probably still work, but the above will give you better performance for your trailer.
In regards to rise drop, there are some cases that would require a longer shank but for a mid-size truck I don't think this will be an issue at all so most likely you will be ready to go with the above and have everything you need.
