Will the Dexter 7,000 Lb Electric Braking Assemblies Fit a 5,200 Lb Axle

Question:
Will 7000lb backing plate fit on a 5200lb axle. Both 5 bolt mounting. On dexter axle
asked by: Chris
Expert Reply:
Yes, the 5,200 lb and 7,000 lb trailer axles will have the same five bolt brake mounting flange so you can swap braking assemblies out between the two. That said, the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Kit part # 23-464-465 which is for 7,000 lb axles will have a stronger magnet than the ones for a 5,200 lb or 6,000 lb axle for example. If more stopping power is what you are looking for then this would be just want you need.
